Back in school, she used to be a cheerful girl and in her graduating class she was voted as "Most likely to brighten up your day" by her classmates.
Her career kicked off with a series of small roles in many independent films. She played the lead of the television version of the film Working Girl. Her supporting role in the film Crash won her acclaims from all over and was regarded as the best performance of her career till date. Her upcoming films include Premonition and Julian McMahon.

She has used her high profile status for many noble cause. She helped the victims of the September 11, 2001 attacks wanting to contacy their families. Bullock has also twice donated $ 1 million to the American Red Cross, for its Liberty Disaster Relief Fund and then to Indian Ocean earthquake and Tsunamies.
She has been one of People magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People in the world in 1996 and 1999. She was the 58th Star out of 100 in Empire magazine's Movie Stars of All Time list. She was awarded with Raul Julia Award for her Excellence as the executive producer of ABC's hit sitcom George Lopez Show in helping raise career options for Hispanic talent in the entertainment industry.
