George ClooneyBorn as George Timothy Clooney, this Irish American actor was born in Lexington, Kentucky to former pageant queen Nina Warren and Nick Clooney, a journalist, anchor, game show host, American Movie Classics host and a politician.
Clooney spent his early days struggling to get into the show biz. He finally bagged his first major role in 1984 in the television medical drama E/R. Alongside; he appeared in The Facts Of Life. ADVERTISEMENT  He continued to feature in E/R besides acting in films and his first major Hollywood role was in the movie From Dusk Till Dawn. Then followed a hit, The Peacemaker, which was the first film of Dreamworks SKG studio. After this, he appeared in Batman & Robin which s considered the worst Batman Movie ever made. He left E/R to pursue a full-time career in films. His success as an actor came with movies like The Three Kings, The Perfect Storm, and O Brother, Where Art Thou? He then starred in Ocean's Eleven alongside Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, Andy Garcia, Don Cheadle, Julia Roberts and Bernie Mac. This remains the most commercial successful movie in Clooney's career. Clooney was praised among critics and audiences for his role in Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, even though the film did not do well at the box-office. George Clooney is the first person in the Oscar history to be nominated for directing a movie and acting in another in the same year. He won one the Best Supporting Actor for Syriana. Clooney is one of the two actors to be awarded the title "Sexiest Man Alive" twice by People magazine.
